Do you play BF2 by any chance? Because I used to play it non stop and I picked up CoD4 pretty quickly. Or maybe you havent found the right class to play with.

Thats why I play hardcore mode, it only takes a bullet or two to kill someone, so they don't have much time to run away.

cod4 is easy as hell, just give it a few days till you unlock more guns/perks and it will be a more level playing field (that's assuming you arent already a level 55, if so, uninstall immediately)!

I was level 55, then I installed vista and forgot to backup my profile. Oh well... I'm at level 32 now, with a total 10 hours game time... a little fast some may say.

I hit 55 with 12 hours of playing so yeah.... But I am at like 1 day and 12 hours trying to complete all the god damn challenges, lol.
