I doubt I'll even be able to max this game out and I've got 2GB DDR2, an 8800GTX and an Intel Core2Duo 4400 2.00GHz 2MB L2.

Your computer should run it fine with everything on high..
I have a 8800GTS, same RAM, and the e4300 @ 2.70 and I get 30ish fps with everything on high.

I have 2.6ghz and the 2900pro and I cant even run it on very high settings. It's all is fine until I get into a fire fight then it starts to lag a bit.

Sorry SWAT I think you may fall a little short there. You could probably run it but it wouldnt be an enjoyable gaming experience for you. The only thing really holding you back is the graphics card you have. You would have to run the game on the lowest settings to get a respectable framerate. Just a quick tip though, and I suggest this to anybody in your situation... BUY MORE RAM! It's cheap and will increase your preformance noticably. Any gamer should have 2G of RAM. 4 sticks of 512 is better than 2 1G sticks too... better airflow and therefore less heat!

Then you will have no problems. 2G with an 8800 GTS should run on high settings with a good framerate. Anything higher than that is really just to get more framerates. I was hoping on getting an 8800 GTS myself in a week but my car decided to fuck up just a couple days ago so I'm not sure if I'll get the new vid card within a month... depends what the repairs on my car will be. Might even just fuck it and get my new car earlier than planned.

8 series Nvidia > anything ATi
Plus, the game was built for Nvidia. In case you didn't notice the "Nvidia, the way it's meant to be played" logo at start up :)

Well it runs alright on my comp with everything on high and anti-aliasing on 2x If I put it at optimal settings though it puts everything on Very High and its like a slide show, lol. Looks like it's time to upgrade.

I thought about doing that but instead I put my big boy pants on and bought a house. So now even whoring my body on the street is not sufficient enough to pay my bills.

Downloading it now. My cpu is probably going to bottleneck the shit out of this though, I still haven't worked out how to OC it properly.
Intel e4300 @ 1.8ghz
2gb (2x1gb) G.Skill 800mhz ram
MSI Nvidia geforce 8600gtsOC
160gb WD Sata3 hd (16mb cache)
700watt OCZ PSU
20.1" LG Widescreen LCD Monitor (5000:1 contrast, 1680x1050 native resolution)

*I'm on Vista.
It will unpack all of the files needed to get the installer going, but when it installs it says I am missing a crucial Windows Update. I run Windows updated and I get nothing. Home Premium is updated to the fullest.

I've set my FSB to 300 through BIOS and now I'm at 2.7GHz.. almost 1GHz OC. Over 50% performance increase.
