So, I did what I said I wasn't going to do, and, when I was on my lunch break, bought this non multiplayer game. I will probably be spending most of my night tonight playing it. If it is how I expect it to be I will be done with it pretty fast. :( Oh well, atleast I got the collectors edition, and it comes with a cool figure of one of the "Big Daddy" guys from the game. :D

If anyone else has got it ... I guess this will be the official thread of talking about the game and what your doing and what you have learned while playing. It looks like it is gona be a pretty fun game. I can't wait to get off work so I can load it up.

Is it just me or does anyone else here think they are probably not going to use genetic modification as much as they should in the game. I tend to ignore the extra stuff in fps ... cause I can aim. I never used slow motion in FEAR.

When I played FEAR I only used the slow motion trigger when I was low on health, any other time though I never really used it. I made my pre-purchase through steam like 2 nights ago, I cant wait to try it out. :)

The game is cool. The graphics are great, the gameplay is good, it runs smooth. The story is pretty cool and all. My only gripe is I can not get my mouse sensitivity down to what I want it to be. I can lower my dpo to 600, and the ingame sensitivity to 1 (the lowest), and lower my windows sensitivity (after further testing it has no effect on the game sensitivity) and it is still faster than what I use in css by atleast twice as much.

Genetic mods a la Deus Ex? Cuz those were awesome...jump 30 feet in the air and come down without being hurt, seeing through walls, detonating missiles before they get close to you...fun shit.

I wouldn't mess with the Windows Sensitivity...
If you have the software for your Mouse , I would suggest adjusting the sensitivity that way...

I was about 15 minutes into it, having very much enjoyed what I had seen so far, when I came upon the first Big Daddy encounter. I watch in rapt attention as he charges a splicer when suddenly BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM BOOM. It sounds as though a string of firecrackers has been detonated in my computer case, as well as each BOOM being punctuated with a bright blue flash coming through the case window

I think this games optimized for dual core cpu's, I played it (for the fifth time) today with task manager open and its stayed peg'd at 78% usage on both cpus. Nice.

They would be silly not to optimize it for multi core processors. There are reports that it utilizes quad cores to their full ability aswell.

I really think the world Bioshock is based in would make a great movie ... I posted this on the 2K forums and got an interesting reply. A guy made a really convincing movie trailer for the game. It is fake (I recognize where some of the scenes involving real actors came rom), but it is still really cool.

How do u iron sight? Lol I never knew you can do that. Anyways I'm about 60% done with it, Although it is one of the best games I have ever played it's kinda easy, especially Big Daddies. I usually only use my pistol on them and they are done.

To make it harder on myself and last longer I am playing it on hard and when I die I don't respawn I reload my last save. Plus there is so many secrets you can easily drag each area out much longer than is needed. If you rush people are reporting finishing in 6 hours. If you do every little thing people are saying 20 or more. Ontop of that supposably there are 3 reported endings.

Play it on hard you noob. I havn't ever loaded the game on easy or medium, but the reports on the bioshock forums are that the difference between medium and hard is really big. Things take so much more to drop. Rosies hardly ever miss a shot and fun stuff.

I am finding out there are complete zones in the game that you never have to venture too and the game has significantly more to play if you rescue the LS rather than harvest them.

I thought the ending was kinda dumb. I know you said it has multiple endings, but after I beat Fonataine it showed like a whole bunch of those little girls then those submarine capsule things floated to the surface next to a submarine and splicers came out of them and killed everybody. Is that the same ending you got P?

I just started the game again for my second go around. See what other kinds of endings I can get. The only disappointment I had with the game was how easy the final final boss was. I played it on hard difficulty and I found that the Elite Rosies were much harder than the last boss. I only used 3 medpacks, Bees level 3 plasmid was on him constantly, some antipersonal auto rounds, and 16 loads Explosive Buckshot and it was good game.

I fixed the mouse acceleration myself. It is easy to fix. Just some parameters in some of the .ini files. :D

As far as youre activation problems, Westpfelia. I would do like Connor said and go browse the 2K forums. There have been a lot of activation problems due to its overly complex and restrictive anti-piracy protection. Which turned to, once again, be futile as there are many pirated copies floating around on bit torrent already.

i got it fixed i had to call the canadian help line cause american one was fucked up.... but i told them the code and there like oh thats one of the broken codes>< and they just gave me a new one... it was odd

I DL'd this game almost 2 weeks ago, but it was a bitch to crack and then it basically didnt work cause my X850xt doesnt have the right shader model or some shit. Tried various community fix's (and a lame ati hotfix), but couldnt get it anywhere near where id like it to be, for me to actually play it through. Good thing i didnt buy it i guess. Im planning on upgrading my pc soon, so i guess ill put this game off till i got a beefier/better pc to run it.

From what little bit i did play though, it looks like a fantastic game. But from a buyers pov, wtf is up with the lame activation process and limited installs? Kinda reminds me of HL2 when that game came out. It was a pain to DL/crack for a while, too.

And yea, Bioshock was a really good game, even having played it on a shitty 6600GT. Actually, I think I'll play it again and enjoy the graphics on high and over 20 FPS.:D

I got this game on the 360 back in october and from everything i've heard i'm really glad I didn't go pc for it. As far as I know there's only 2 endings.
